Stevo: I don't know who started it and I don't give a fuck. The one thing I do know is that we did it harder, we did it faster, and we definitely did it with more love, baby. You can't take that away from us.

less than jake last night. was good, but not great. i pulled another excercise in perfect timing. walked from the bus station to the academy, downed a semiillegal tennants, ditched another two in the bushes nearby the venue, got inside, got felt up, dropped off the post, walked in and LTJ started rocking. much akin to the HoB bad religion gig with mikey and eric. probably good that i couldn't get a drink beforehand, could have crossed over the line from socially violent to truely violent. i only say this because there were a group of three skinhead dickheads in the 'pit' (apostrophes appropriate - more later). i really wanted to smash heads (their heads), which i did to a point, that point being what is prescribed by pit etiquette - you know, shoving those who have run into you, picking up those who've been chucked on the ground, that sort of stuff. these jerks were punching, kicking, ganging up on single people (me! et al), which all in all is okay...IF (and only if) there is a genuine pit going...smash away boys...but when you're surrounded by 14 y/o pre-pubescent scenesters and a pit won't form, even when you're trying your hardest (even when it is demanded by LTJ pre-song and one is formed and it still can't maintain itself), well shite, fucking deal, don't fucking kidney punch me over and over. dicks.

also LTJ did keep dogging on various emo/indie/punksoftcore bands, maybe to give themselves more punk cred? which, fair enough, but fer fuck sake, you're less than jake. i love you guys, you're a first rate skapunk band. you're not *that* punk, you don't need to raise your core-ness by lowering others'. don't dig on the emokids, let me do that to their faces. cool?

boxwars 4 was perfect. perfect i tell you. we rented out a proper gig venue, got oi polloi (hardcore gaelic punk legends) to play, sold tickets, did box related promotion, built some crazy boxes, wrote a zine, we did everything we could to make this a success and aside from the underagers not being let in due to a last minute decision by edinburgh council/licensing board it was. we've made enough to cover our costs and to continue with the corrigated chaos. i can't believe it. seriously. that this would be a genuine success is still suprising.
