urgh. so much in the last week. crrraaazy.
back to the concert (shortened version)
street dogs came out and provided the best entertainment of the evening. the lead singer is the lead singer of dropkick murphy's (not sure if this is a side project or his new band), and they've got the similar pub rock sound, though much more anthem and sing-along fueled. this was even more enjoyable as i had no clue what to expect from these guys and they were awesome.
bouncing souls were alright. not exactly my style of music, so i wasn't super excited to catch them. good stuff, but nothing worth writing home about.

mikey abram held a birthday party in santa monica. i've been wanting to cycle up to LA since i returned here and figured this would be a good excuse to do something stupid, so Wes and i biked up to LA. it was fun and suprisingly easy (well, maybe not easy, but it deffo wasn't hard). i think next crazy ride i'll try to break 100 in a day - that'll probably kill me. I actually really liked riding through the port of LA, i've never seen it from the costal side, jsut from 405 side. good fun though. i'm slowly getting addicted to this cycling thing.
made it up to santa monica and proceded to begin a weekend bender. the question arises, if you ride 100 miles, over the course of the bender, does it really count as a bender? i dunno, but i did drink quite a bit over the next two days. mikey's was super fun, seeing everyone (again) and partying at a not shitty la club/bar complex (who knew?). was super double cool because a whole bunch of mike's perfiery came along (second and third degree friends). jamie was at a med school confrence at UCLA, so she came along with two of her UNR friends. kool kids. the girl she brought along without question had the line of the night, 'why are there so many tools here?' well, it is LA, waht do you expect? not that OC is any better, yeah?
denny's for breakfast the next day and later mike and karen fought my hangover by entrancing me with the laguna beach tv show. good god. this was horrible. it was like the oc only (more) shitty.
eventually rode through my hazy hangover to UCLA to snipe some pre-med confrence lunch and visit with jamiken and co. i should have stayed the night up in LA, but i'm sure it would have gotten real messy real quick, and that's never good. after sitting through a (gasp) good talk about cigarette dangers i rode off to union station in downtown. riding through downtown LA = fun. union station = amazing. i can't believe i've never been there before. well, i have, but i've never been in the station part, just switched trains or busses... super cool building. while waiting for the train i did the olivares street thing and had some horchata.
back in irvine it was raining! what the hell? should have stayed up north. waited the rain out and slugged it to my soccer team party. hung for about an hour (continued the bender)then rocked wes + tia at scrabble (yet more benderrific fun). rode my tired ass home and hit the sack at some ungodly hour.
