How is it possible that i've lived in southern california for six long years and only just started surfing 3 weeks ago?

Who knew the beach/ocean could actually be more than the annoyance that is sand/salty water. I think i might even buy a wetsuit and board for some frigid surfing up in the bay area. yeah!
