I've already been told by 3 people to update my blog. Jeez, i've been out of town for less than a day ;-)
So begins the trek to the hometown. As i type i am sitting in Fremont in Dan's house. Helga (dan's mom) is UBER-HOSPITABLE. I can not emphasize this enough. I have been here for only a few hours and already I can't take the helpfulness of it all (okay, i can...it is great...but you know what i mean). i'm already anxious to be headed home. tommorow i get to experience the thing i miss the most about home before i even get to the house - tahoe. The mountains, the forests and the lake. My sister's 20th (GASP!!!) birthday is tommorow and i'm suprising her at her party at the lake. jeez, she's 20. fuck. i don't care about me being 22. but good god, blythe nicole is 20! TWENTY! good god.
in other news, the california governor race is awesome!
so i've got a sunburn ala andy on my knee and on my upper sholder. although i was prepared with the UV blocking power of SPF 30, i was not prepared for the shifting of clothes created by sitting down (shorts shift up slightly), nor the power of the wind sailing up my shirt sleeve creating a pocket of unprotected skin. damn you UV rays! damn you! but car did make it just fine the whole way. in fact, it was better than fine. this drive reminded me why i love car so much. 101 is THE way to travel to the bay area. fuck I5. it is worth the extra time to avoid the heat and the lack of scenery. AND when you travel through gilroy you pass by the McCormicks plant. It smells like seasoned salt! Yum! There was somethign else that i passed by that smelled great. I can't remember what it was though. The only part of the drive that sucked was through salinas. there was major traffic. But that was fun because i got to people watch. Two cars loved my stickers. A suburban kept giving me the evil eye and one black old lady kept looking at me with cursed eyes. I don't think she liked my prochoice sticker.
Atascadero was great! Eric, you missed out. Worfmeister's family is fun. His home town is exactly as i imagined it. Gotta run, this blog is dragging on...
peace from norcal
