must invest in ear plugs. ears pounding.
so edinburgh has this great system of night busses that run from midnight til 5 every day. okay, it really isn't a great system because the busses only come every hour (or half hour if you're on a popular route), but it is great because everyone on the bus is completely smashed. oddly the 2 times i've ridden the night bus i've been either (last night) lucid beyond belief or (about a month and a half ago) about 4 beers deep, definately not enough to fit in with these scots. you can typically expect the normal antics of a group of drunk people stuffed into a small enclosed area, but last night coming home from the club/rave/party (more on that in a bit) everyone on the bus had dinnerplate pupils and were extra touchy feely with one another. aaaah good times...
so last night i went to see timo maas dj for BBC radio 1's essential mix at one of the most bizarre venues i've ever been to - a mall. a fucking mall! what the hell is this crap? they cleared out a bar/food court area and to be fair, did a pretty good job converting it. nothing amazing, but considering what it was before, they did a great job. i was a bit worried as bbc was sponsoring this ish, but i had faith in timo and his uber (un?)fashionable euro mullet and he did not let me down. the dj before him was actually pretty decent, but relied on a few too many techno-pop-remixes (although not that many in the big picture of things) and he really didn't mix that many songs together, instead relying on lame-o premixed songs and letting them finish and using a drummachine effect to mix record to record together not trying to fuse the two together (although i do give him props for a mix of the kill bill whistleing music with other songs - although about 5 minutes of that ish will drive you nuts...)
oh! my boss downloaded the new episodes of the OC and made dvds for me! hooray! i'm back in the loop!
