oh yeah, so at the end of the night as we were leaving the the last bar we walked out to find three hasidic jews chatting around a tour bus - mind you, this is something like 4:30 in the morning, a bit out of place, no? so thalia (greek/english girl - drunk at this point) shrieks, "RABBIS (rabbies? rabbouix?)!!" then bursts into loud laughter. Argh. I go on to explain, that no, they (probably) aren't rabbis, but just hacidic jews (yes, black hats, beards, curly hair things and all). As we continue home we cross another 10 or so, who seem to be coming the area (makes sence as we are in the jewish district and about 2 blocks from the 2nd largest functioning synagogue in the world - minus the fact that it is four thirty in the morning!). later we discover that they have been travelling from poland, via bus, and just arrived in the city...
in other news - my latest guilty pleasure is The Donnas. I dunno, it makes me think of what type of band my lady-alcoholic-friends (you know who youare) would have if they all started a pop-rock band together...
