a-mer-i-ca, a-mer-i-ca, great great. forgot that it is full of americans. checked off loads of my 'to do while back' and added some stuff i didn't even know i wanted. got of the plane from the UK and was greeted with an A&W. great. can you get much more american? grabbed a rootbeer float and couldn't stop smiling - was even told 'you even make it look good!' by some random girl in the terminal. week in DC was a week of boozy proudfoot goodness. his local is a great dive - think juke joint in huntington + three floors, good friends, good times. brought me to my first americomplaint - BAAAAD BEER! BADBADBAD! was treated to the second annaversary of the UCDC centre. this beautiful moneypit of a building was hosting all the local DC UC crew, various UC staff and hangers-on like myself. it is all about the post degree open bar and typical college function munchies. dan's grad school buddy and i went (semi-clandestinely) centre exploring until he set off the emergency alarm. damn. fortunately the damn thing turned off after we shut the door - no problem either way, they can't take my degree away, right? eeek. searched out a great anarchist infoshop - despite my hatred of the anarchists (g8 remenant hatred - can't help it), they do know how to stock a store full of zines. joy. speaking of zines(ters) met up with julia (ooooold school!) just down the street from the infoshop. was taken to veggie restaraunt, meal was okay, had best quinoa i've ever had (that isn't saying much, ya dig?), was served with stinging nettles & musrooms. mostly good, the company was considerably better. discovered her brother is a zinester who's product is distrabuted in the only american major distro - tower records. sweet deal. took my first trip to tower in years, grabbed a few zines, alex's is great. annoyingly good actually. pick up some legal underage pornography, seriously. www.anarchygolfballs.com. sometimes semiotic pediofilia is not so bad. hah. late night monument photography, tossing around an (american) football, frisbee, hugely mediocre belgian filmography, and more that i can't remember (i'm sure i'll remember more later - i'm drunk in nyc at the mo) ended my dc experience. more on ny/dc later.

word.
