i love the train. part way through the journey the damn thing broke down and we were given the option of switching to a different train leaving in about 30 minutes from the same station. this was destined to be loaded with people as nearly the entire train booked it not knowing when our train would be fixed. being in no rush i spread myself out and waited patiently. said patience was rewarded by the error being fixed in about 10 minutes and shipping off in a nearly empty train and loads of angry ex-passengers trying to get back on. hilarity.

on a trip down south to london visiting one of the few truly good friends i made in edinburgh. this is the thing with edinburgh, it is an uber transient city. all of the good friends i made in the city thus far have buggered off to various places. maybe i'm destined to join this army of transience. anyways, visiting this amazing girl, one of the few that make me want to be straight (there are currently 3-4 girls on this list). i suppose that is the thing with good friends, you can't sleep with them, yes? she's staying in camden which is quite cool, but it is OVERLOADED right now. i don't do super well in crowds, so i'm hiding away in an internet cafe with the sunday papers. i'm reading the times, which is my sunday paper of choice - love the news review section and travel sections. i'm not sure why, but i hate the observer, i think it is the layout of that paper, i find it hard to read.

i realized the other day that i used to describe myself as 'tall white guy with short hair' but now i drop out the white bit. thank you uberwhite edinburgh. my whiteness isn't a distinguishing feature anymore. hmmmm. no commentary here, just something i noticed.
