ya know what really pisses me off about the whole mark foley scandal thing? maybe i'm just hypersensitive, but initially there was an undercurrent of "the unmarried congressman" (in politicobabble 'the gay dude') which maybe led everyones' subconsious to the "what do you expect from an *unmarried congressman*?'. Then further the clergyman abuse situation comes up which (maybe subconsiously?) allows us to leap to "well of course he's *unmarried* he was abused by a church type".

again, maybe i'm just sensitive or there is a huge unspoken (but known) antigay thing tied up in the whole scandal?

anyways, my rant is a few weeks to late...
